With the pandemic shutting down movie theatre’s around the world, Paris and the river Seine will be the host of, guess what? A floating movie theatre. Yup, with 38 electric boats at a social distance from each other, where everyone watches the movie from an open boat. Call it a Float-In!
I think Paris has given us a challenge that the California Delta and other inland water bodies in the US and Canada should take up.
We love our movies, and we love boats. Paris has set the trend, and they have more than a century of trend-setting history behind them. But, I bet those of us who sail or powerboat, or especially Duffy owners, can arrange to do a cruise-in in of our own and even set up an outdoor water movie theater near us. It might be a fun destination!
