Walt Raineri was on Team USA of Blind Sailors who took third place in the 2018 World Championships of Blind Match Racing in the waters off of Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, where he met Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, was featured on BBC TV, Scottish TV and BBC Radio Programs, but also won the Bronze medal for Team USA.
These sailors navigate with sound on the bouys to determine the course, and sound on their boats, to win and to avoid crashing into each other.
Walt races locally for Team BAADS (Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors) and will be representing the United States in the 2018 Blind Match Racing World Championships in Rhu, Scotland at the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club.
