Today LAYC Staff Commodore Marie Rogers interview Japanese American Mike Sudo about his race to Hawaii in the 51st edition of the Transpac with 41 competitors.

Forty-one teams started the 51st Transpac Race which took the fleet on a 2225 nm course from Point Fermin in Los Angeles to the finish line off Diamond Head in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Mike has been sailing since 1998 and started racing with Macondo in 2017 with Del Rey Yacht Club.

Mike is a life long runner and USC football fan and graduate.
