Karen Lile and Jan Pehrson met at the 37th Americas Cup in Barcelona, both accredited media for the race. Jan joins us on our Sail Sport Talk live broadcast to 100 million people in 168 countries to talk about photographing these amazing boats. A photography student, George, from the Leigh Stationer’s Academy in London will be asking a question of Jan during the interview.

Jan Pehrson specializes in sailboat racing photography and journalism, particularly of the world’s most exciting and beautiful sailing regattas. Her action photographs of the world’s fastest sailboats and most skillful and joyful sailors, young and old, capture the beauty, thrill, and drama of the sport.

Jan photographs and writes about all aspects of sailing, from youth regattas to classic yachts to Grand Prix racing.

As a racing and cruising sailor, Coast Guard licensed skipper, and former juniors instructor, Jan’s familiarity with sailing and the sailing community lends an in-depth element to her prolific array of photographs and articles.

Jan is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California and spends winters in St. Petersburg, Florida when she is not at sea.

Jan’s sailing articles have been published worldwide in print and online magazines, newspapers, books, and news sites. She is the former Sailing Columnist for the Marin Independent Journal Newspaper, published in Marin County, California.

In 2014, Jan began photographing and writing about Bahamian Wooden Racing Sloops.
