Held annually on the last Sunday of April- Opening Day is a boat parade tradition that goes back to the 1800\u2019s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2023 the theme -Broadway on the Bay \u2013 inspired by PICYA Staff Commodore Liz Allison \u2013 brought out several clever winning interpretations amongst the 60+ entries in the annual competitive boat parade along the San Francisco city waterfront. This year the wind was up, the waves were whipping and it took an effort to keep the boats in-line and holdng steady as they took turns passing the Committee boat \u2013 aka Luxe Cabernet Sauvignon \u2013 filled with members of Northern California Yacht Clubs and the Parade Judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition is passionate with several categories: flags, annual theme, youth, power boats vs sailboats. and more.
