Phil Robertson leads the Sail GP China Team. Sailing is Phil Robertson’s life and has been since the age of 10, when he started racing competitively. With a preference and enjoyment for a team environment he joined the prestigious RNZYS youth training program.

At 21, Robertson created and led his own team and steadily climbed the ranks of match racing, before winning the world championships in the new format, M32 catamarans.

Robertson has participated in many of the world’s most iconic and challenging ocean races and he has his sights set on one-day competing in an elite circumnavigation event.
He is a sportsman at heart with a love and passion for the ocean and sailing. With a competitive streak, off the water he can be found running and competing in triathlons. In 2015 he completed an Ironman in a time of 10hrs and 4mins, a challenge he plans to repeat.
