The Pacific Cup is a 2070 mile biennial invitational race from the starkly beautiful coastline of San Francisco to the lush, tropical paradise of Kaneohe, Hawaii. June 4-8, 2022.

Jim is the Commodore of the Pacific Cup Yacht Club and a 19-time Pac Cup vet, including those “other” Pacific Races, Jim is also Commodore of the Singlehanded Sailing Society. He is well-known for his many passages, with family, and even singlehanded, aboard his Cal 40, Green Buffalo.

The Pacific Cup Yacht Club was formed to run the Pacific Cup race from San Francisco Bay to Hawaii – committed to running a race that is competitive, fun, and safe, they operate the race with a focus on preparation and openness to a wide range of entrants, from tiny double handers to mega yachts and from family adventures to well-tuned racing syndicates.

The Pacific Cup Yacht Club and Singlehanded Sailing Society are members of the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association – 110 member Yacht Clubs and boating associations in Northern California, established in 1896.
