World class sailor Pip Hare on Sail Sport Talk!

Pip Hare is the skipper and CEO of Pip Hare Ocean Racing, and the 8th woman in the world to finish the Vendee Globe Race. Pip runs an elite, ocean racing team from her base in Poole and is currently on track to compete in the 2024 Vendee Globe race. Pip’s long career has seen her achieve numerous podiums in offshore racing, set an outright world record and set two world firsts in her disciplines of endurance sport. Pip’s time at sea has given her a unique insight on resilience and problem solving.

Pip Hare is a professional solo ocean yacht racer with 25 years’ experience, who caught the attention of a global audience when in 2020 she raced a 60ft yacht, non-stop and single-handed around the world in the Vendée Globe Race. In completing this, Pip became the 9th woman in history to achieve this goal.

A writer and speaker, Pip shared her 95-day race with an international audience struggling through one of the most difficult winters in memory. Her performance received world-wide acclaim. Her resilience, determination and positivity appealed to a huge audience and won the following of the media and fans across the globe. 

Having proved her calibre among the world’s most talented solo sailors Pip intends to build on her 2020 performance, to compete in the 2024 Vendée Globe Race.
