Pam Healy: Olympian & US Sailing Olympic teams

Today on Sail Sport Talk we are interviewing our special guest Olympian Pam Healy, Chair of 2024 US Olympic Trials, who will share the latest in the USA team sailing trials. The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held Friday, Jul 26 – Sun, Aug 11, 2024, in Paris, France. Sailing competitions are scheduled to run from July 28 to August 8 in Marseille where the Olympic torch will begin its travel throughout France this spring.

  • Organized two developmental Nacra-15 clinics and a one regional ODP Style clinic in SF in 2017
  • Wounded Warriors, Girl Scouts, and YMCA J22 sailing coach through community outreach in San Francisco
  • Taught Women’s only racing clinic in J22’s and held a one week women’s camp this past summer at Tinsley Island
  • US Sailing Hall of Fame Nominee

Racing Experience:

  • Olympic Bronze Medalist Women’s 470 1992 with skipper/teammate JJ Fetter
  • 470 World Champion 1991 with JJ Fetter
  • Three-time yachtswoman of the year at both the SFYC and St.FYC
  • Rolex Women’s Keelboat Champion Crew (with JJ Fetter)
  • Competed in Adam’s Cup, multiple Collegiate, National and International events

Currently active as a mentor and advocate for young women wanting to plan their competitive sailing programs. Teaching adult women to race, skippered in the recent Leukemia Cup & Big Boat Series. Race for fun and enjoy sharing the sport with others.
