Riley Gibbs & US Sailing Olympic Team

At only two weeks old, Riley Gibbs had his first taste of sailing with his family in club races and never looked back.

Racing his own boat by the age of five, he’s a member of the US Sailing Team and is currently campaigning in the foiling Nacra 17 catamaran with an eye toward the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

He’s been collecting more than experience in multiple North American and World Championships, Gibbs is bringing home the hardware as well. As the youngest skipper to win the 505 North American Championships, he also earned a silver medal at the ISAF Youth Worlds in the 29er class, and finished fourth at the Formula Kite World Championships. He sailed as part of the USA Sail GP Team in 2019 on the F50s.

Gibbs, who calls Long Beach, California, home, enjoys surfing, foiling kiteboarding and downhill mountain biking. For more information about US Sailing Olympic Team see: https://www.ussailing.org
