A Thanks to African American Mentors

Karen Lile thanks the African American men and women in her life who have mentored her and welcomed her into leadership in the boating and sailing communities.  A thank you to

  • Lenora Clark, Staff Commodore of the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association,
  • PICYA Commodore, Robert Willis, who is also a member of the Ebony Boat Club, founded in 1987, an active African American boat club in northern California that has members from ages 20 to 70 years old.
  • LAYC Jr. Staff Commodore Marie Rogers
  • Kevin Battle, Commissioner of the US Rugby Division 1A
  • San Francisco Postmaster Abraham Cooper, USPS.

I am the grateful recipient of knowledge, introductions and mentorship of these wonderful men and women and just want to say, thank you for your leadership, warmth and friendship.  At this time in our history, I wanted to give acknowledgement to this people, without whom, I could not have done what I do today.
